Citizen Science Saturdays at Prairie Ridge
Every Saturday in July (June 6, 13, 20, and 27)
10:30am – 11:30am
All Ages Welcome (Recommended for 8+)
Citizen science is a big part of what we do at Prairie Ridge, so we welcome one and all to our weekly citizen science walks! These Saturday morning adventures will introduce you to a citizen science project and enlist your help collecting and entering data as you enjoy a walk around the grounds with one of our naturalists. Topics will vary from week to week, and may include gathering data on tree and garden budding/blooming, pond dragonflies, ladybugs, or birds. Come once or come every week, we’re happy to show you how YOU can contribute to science as a citizen scientist! For more information please contact Chris Goforth at 919.707.8882 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

All trails are natural with some uneven surfaces and small hills. Off-road strollers should be fine on the trails. Register for one walk or more; every walk is different. For more information and to register, please contact Cathy Fergen email@example.com.
Moths at Night
Saturday, July 27, 2013
8:00pm – Midnight (Multiple Times)
All Ages (Under 16 Must Be Accompanied by an Adult)
Celebrate National Moth Week with the Museum at Prairie Ridge! Enjoy a brief orientation in the outdoor classroom, then head out to our blacklights and baits to see what’s out and about throughout the night. Bring a flashlight, a camera (if you have one), and your moth questions. We’ll have activities for kids and upload photos of the moths that we see to Discover Life and Butterflies and Moths of North America so that our data can help scientists learn more about the species in our area. For more information, contact Chris Goforth at 919.707.8882 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please confirm events with the venue before attending.
