Kidokinetics Sports & PE Program
Thursdays from September through December

9:40am – 10:10am (Ages 6-8)

$28/month or $95 for September through December (siblings are $10/month or $35)

Kidokinetics Sports & PE program is designed as a comprehensive physical education program for homeschooled children and/or those seeking to add additional physical education to their weekly schedule. We follow standards set forth by the National Association for Physical Education (NASPE).

Through the introduction of a variety of sports and physical activities, our program teaches children the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to participate in a variety of sports and physical activities, to understand the importance of healthful physical activity and to develop core competencies in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.

Calling all homeschoolers in the Millbrook area and around Raleigh. Join us for open gym each Tuesday. Staff will provide equipment, you provide the fun. Great way to get some midday wiggles out before school starts back again in the afternoon and an opportunity to meet other home school students in your neighborhood.

Get your homeschooler active in this unique program at Millbrook Exchange Center. Coach Shawn will guide your homeschooler through a variety of sports and games that will keep your child moving and having fun. Coach Shawn is skilled in a variety of sports and specializes in working with youth sports. Each week will feature a different activity or sport. Class meets each Friday! Sign up today because space is limited.

history. Learn about the American Revolution through a
whimsical story set to the popular tune of Yankee

Head out with the whole family for a wild expedition into
the wet and wooded lands surrounding Yates Mill Pond.

Little Sprouts:  Build a Beaver

B is for busy beavers! Learn what beavers
look like by looking at real tracks, skulls
and a pelt! Build a dam and walk to the
boardwalk, then use our binoculars to spy

Corn Milling Demonstrations

Yates Mill’s full corn grinding operation is demonstrated on the third
weekend of each month from March through November and can be
viewed by taking a half-hour corn grinding tour with a costumed guide.

It`s 1863 at Yates Mill, and the yard is alive with activity! Step back
in time with our 19th century costumed interpreters and watch the
millstones at work grinding corn into meal. Tours are not available between 12-1 pm
and the last tour of the day begins at 3:40 pm.

Chill Out:  The History of Ice Manufacturing

Cool summer treats like ice cream, snow cones, and
popsicles all have one thing in common. Ice! Valued
around the world for its cooling purposes for thousands
of years, it was first harvested as a saleable commodity
in the United States in the early 1800s. Explore the
history of this often overlooked essential ingredient
and try your hand at ice bowling.
